Step-by-Step Guide:
-
Turn off both vehicles.
Ensure both the motorcycle and car are completely off before connecting the cables.
-
Connect jumper cables in this order: -
Red clamp to motorcycle battery positive (+)
-
Red clamp to car battery positive (+)
-
Black clamp to car battery negative (–)
-
Black clamp to a metal part on the motorcycle frame (ground), not the battery

-
-
Start the motorcycle.
Try starting the motorcycle without starting the car. Most of the time, the car battery’s charge is enough.
-
If needed, start the car.
Only if the motorcycle doesn't start after a few tries, briefly start the car to give more power — but limit this to a few seconds.
-
Remove the cables in reverse order once the motorcycle starts: -
Black from motorcycle frame
-
Black from car battery
-
Red from car battery
-
Red from motorcycle battery

-
-
Keep the motorcycle running for at least 15–30 minutes or go for a ride to recharge the battery.
Important Tips:
-
Do NOT leave the car running too long. Car batteries can overpower motorcycle systems because they typically provide more amperage.
-
Make sure both systems are 12V. Never jump a 6V motorcycle with a 12V car battery.
-
If you're unsure, use a portable jump starter designed for motorcycles — it's safer.
